Harper's Ferry

Harper's Ferry on Savannah River between Elbert County, Goergia and Abbeville County, S.C. was located 200 yards directly west of Lyndsay and Jane Harper's home and operated under four generations of Harpers. Operation Stopped in the early 1920's after a tragedy on the river. A church picnic was being held on the ferry when it capsized and all but 1 or 2 people were drowned.
